Trinity Exam FAQs

What are the exam fees?

Students will be able to see it on the Student's Exam form.

Will Centre Managers fill Students' form or will teachers do?

Centre managers only click on Zoho form. Centre managers will not fill "Simplified FSM Trinity EXAM Students' form". Nor will Teachers fill it. But Teachers will guide, i.e. they tell the correct stream: Rock & Pop/ Classical & Jazz, precise instrument name, precise grade, is the Classical Exam Technical or Repertoire, etc. Students can note it during their class if needed and fill the form at home.

Does 'Mobile' on Zoho's form for Centre Manager (from point 1) mean Centre/Teachers' number?

Nope, it is Student/Parent's Whatsapp Number.

From the student's perspective, how can one keep the form open & pay to a new Beneficiary account at the same time?

Students' Form has a "Save" button. Students can copy from there to add beneficiary & save the form. When payment is done, they can take a screenshot & later revisit to complete the 'Saved' form. Then, submit.

Where can students buy the Exam-books from?

Any place, as long as the book name, instrument, grade & year is confirmed by the teacher. Make sure books are from an authentic shop/online site. Furtados stores are one such good option.

Where/How can the E-books be bought?

Official E-books can be purchased by students from store.trinitycollege.com. "Store.Trinity" is not to be confused with "SHOP.trinity~". Shop is for physical copy in/from U.K. Please don't use this, otherwise it delays your shipping of the book. Choose STORE.TRINITY carefully! Make sure the Exam-Candidate's name is entered while purchasing the book, and not the parent's name. This is because the bottom of every page has the student's name, as needed in the exam.

How to know if a student is Classical & Jazz or Rock & Pop?

Teachers will know & guide. If a teacher doesn't know, get them to connect to S.Q. If a student has the right book confirmed by the teacher, then the Rock & Pop books have the word "Rock & POP" written on the book cover.

Can we take the Trinity Exam entry for students living abroad?

Our forms carry details of fees as shared by Trinity only for India. Fees, account numbers for NEFT, contact details, etc. for every country are different. So, S.Q. can help them figure out the local representative in their country & city, but not fill/collect documents in their region. We can only take entries for delivery addresses & PAN card + bank details in India.

What is the difference between Technical and Repertoire?

This option is only for Classical & Jazz Exams and not for Rock & Pop. Also, it is only for Digital Practical exams. Most students pick pieces + scales + exercises which means you are going for Technical. Some others don’t pick this and play only pieces (extra pieces) which is the “Repertoire” pathway. Best will be to ask your teacher. They'll know better what you have prepared for.

What is the minimum gap we have to give before we take the next exams?

The digital exams are on throughout the year. There is no mandatory gap suggested by Trinity, which is why sometimes students who have been playing for a few years do give up to two exams together or even within a year. But ideally, you should take your time to complete all concepts of a grade. This enables you to go to the next grade with lesser difficulty. Mostly students would do one grade per year in Practical while also doing one grade per year in Theory.

We saw the Theory digital exam option online for Trinity on their website, what’s the fee/how to apply/share more details?

Though the site shows this, there have been problems with the same for the Indian region. Secondly, that is a direct application that students can apply for, and Exam coordinators at the Institute level are not involved. Since it is not foolproof yet, along with the other reasons mentioned above, we don’t give that option at FSM. We do have an option for FSM International Theory Exam if you would like to take Beginner levels. If you are doing other grades, we suggest you take the offline Trinity Theory only. It is conducted twice a year: May & November. Fees for the same have to be paid 3 months before the exam.

Do the fees remain the same?

Once Trinity shares the fees, the fees remain the same for a year. The next change of fees is expected in March of next year. However, the fees for theory are different from the practical Digital & that is different from the practical Offline. Some exceptional reasons have caused changes in fees a couple of times, however, these were due to changes in Indian Guidelines & Rules of GST & Digital Exams.
