Terms And Conditions

The competition has the copyright of Furtados School of Music (hereinafter referred to as “FSM”), having its office at 3rd Floor Kohli House, 32nd Road, lane to National College, above New India Co-operative Bank, next to TPS III, Bandra West, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400050.
Each entry must be entered in accordance with these terms and conditions. By entering the competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions. FSM may, in its discretion, refuse to award any prize to any entrant who fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions. All relevant instructions on FSM’s website form part of these terms and conditions.
Entry to the competition is by registration(s) only. An entrant must be a school student. Employees of FSM, any person associated with the competition, and any organization or individual associated with the provision of the prize(s) are not eligible to enter.
Categories: The competition will have three categories: Music, Dance, Speech & Drama. For solos, the age groups for all three categories are:
- Classes 4th to 7th (based on the number of entries received)
- Classes 8th to 10th (based on the number of entries received)
The bands can either consist of the same family of instruments or include a mix of different instrumental groups. Choirs must perform as a single unit. All rules and regulations are available through the website link.
The competition nominations open by acknowledging the invitation and registering. Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on August 31st, 2026. Audition videos must be uploaded on or before August 31st, 2026. Entries received after the last date are invalid. FSM is not responsible for late acceptance, lost, delayed, or misdirected entries.
Participants registering under FSM Partnered Schools must upload a valid school ID card as part of registration and validation. This ID will also be verified during the online and regional rounds if the participant qualifies. FSM may disqualify a participant at any stage in case of discrepancy or invalid identification.
Eligibility rules for the competition:
- Schools should contact FSM at banditfestival@fsm.net.in or call 86576 02191. Participants must complete registration, including payment of the registration fee and submitting an audition video via the Zoho link sent to their registered email address. If the email is not received, check the spam folder or contact the Band-It team.
- The first round consists of one-minute video submissions uploaded to the provided drive link. A central panel of judges will evaluate them and select participants for the regional final.
- Round 2 participants should be able to travel to Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Delhi, Udaipur, Bangalore, Madurai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Belgaum, or another nearby location based on entries received, for the regional finale.
- Selected participants must be available to perform in the regional final at a venue decided by FSM.
- Performances at the regional finale must not exceed three minutes. Participants exceeding the allocated time will be disqualified.
- Participants must be in grades 4–10 for Music, Dance, and Speech & Drama.
- A band must have a minimum of three and a maximum of seven members. Group Dance must have a minimum of three and a maximum of 15 members. Participants must perform live in the regional final and Grand Finale, if qualified. Only bands, group dance, and group speech and drama will move to the Grand Finale; solo categories end at the regional-finale level.
- Students should carry their school identity cards.
- FSM will provide a drum kit, one acoustic guitar, one electric guitar, three microphones, keyboards, piano, and the public-address system for the host at the regional finale. Personal amplifiers are not permitted on stage at the audition or finale.
- Solo Singing and Solo Instrumental participants may perform with or without a backing track, minus vocals.
Each school may have more than one entry.
A student may participate in no more than two categories, and their role must be different each time. For example, the same student cannot be the vocalist in two bands. In solo categories, a student cannot register twice in the same category.
Performances may be recorded, edited, or adapted by FSM at any time to:
- Meet broadcasting requirements;
- Promote the Band-It Festival;
- Support promotional purposes; and/or
- Appear on other media platforms.
All performance footage from the auditions, regional finals, and Grand Finale is the property of FSM.
The most original and creative Group-category students may move on to the Grand Finale and be among those eligible for major prizes. The judges’ decisions at the auditions, quarter-finals, and Grand Finale are final.
Final Bands, Group Dances, and Group Speech & Drama participants must travel to Mumbai for mentoring session(s) and the Grand Finale. Dates will be communicated well in advance.
Prizes:
- A trophy, medals, and certificates.
- Vouchers from Furtados Music India Ltd. for winning participants.
No component of a prize may be transferred or redeemed for cash. If a prize becomes unavailable, FSM may provide a similar product.
FSM is not liable for transport expenses, food expenses, or other charges of any group or solo participant.
Your school wholly agrees that:
- All entry details are true and accurate;
- You have all rights and licences, if any, required to participate; and
- The rights granted to FSM under these Terms and Conditions do not infringe the rights of third parties.
The decisions of FSM and its panel of judges are final and binding on every entrant. No correspondence will be entered into.
If an event prevents or hinders FSM from conducting the competition or delivering prizes, FSM may cancel and recommence the competition under the same conditions or select another winner.
FSM is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate information, equipment associated with the competition, or technical errors in its administration. FSM assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation, theft, destruction, unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries.
To the full extent permitted by law, FSM is not liable for injury, damages, expenses, or loss, whether direct or consequential, to persons or property arising from entering the competition or accepting or using any prize. Each school must appoint a single point of contact who is responsible for student safety on behalf of the school.
