Terms And Conditions

  1. The competition has the copyright of Furtados School of Music (hereinafter referred to as "FSM"), having its office at 49, Ferns Villa, 52 Union Park, Next to Quantum Park Society, Khar (West) Mumbai 400052.
  2. Each entry must be entered in accordance with these terms and conditions. By entering the competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions. FSM may, in its discretion, refuse to award any prize to any entrant who fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions. All relevant instructions on FSM’s website form part of these terms and conditions.
  3. Entry to the competition is by registration(s) only. An entrant must be a school student. Employees of FSM, any person associated with the competition, and any organization or individual associated with the provision of the prize(s) are not eligible to enter.
  4. Categories: The competition will have three categories: Music, Dance, Speech & Drama. For solos, we have subcategories:
    • Music: Classes 4th to 7th, Class 8th to 10th (based on entries received)
    • Dance and Speech & Drama: Classes 4th to 7th, Class 8th to 10th
    For FSM Partnered Schools: non-refundable fee of Rs. 599/- for band & group dance/speech & drama, or Rs. 299/- for solo entry.
    For Non-FSM Partnered Schools: non-refundable fee of Rs. 1199/- for band & group dance/speech & drama, or Rs. 599/- for solo entry.

    New Category: "Choir Singing” (min 3, max 10 people, rules on website).
  5. The bands can either consist of the same family of instruments or include a mix of different instrumental groups.
  6. Registrations close at 11:59 p.m. on August 30th, 2025. Audition videos must be uploaded by then. Late entries will not be considered.
  7. FSM Partnered Schools must upload valid school ID cards during registration and verification. Invalid IDs may lead to disqualification.
  8. Eligibility rules:
    • Schools must contact FSM via email banditfestival@fsm.net.in or call 18002099399 / 86576 02191.
    • Registration fee and audition video submission are mandatory.
    • First round: 1-minute video performance submission.
    • Regional Finales: Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata.
    • Performance time limit: 3 minutes.
    • Participants must be in grades 4–10.
    • Band: min 3, max 7 members. Group dance & speech/drama: min 3, max 15 members.
    • Solo finals end at regional level. Bands & groups move to Grand Finale.
    • School ID mandatory at all stages.
    • FSM provides drum kit, guitars, keyboards, piano, mics, PA system.
    • Soloists may use backing track (minus vocals).
  9. Each school may have multiple entries.
  10. A student can join up to 2 categories, but must play different roles each time.
  11. Performances may be recorded/edited by FSM for broadcasting and promotional use.
  12. All performance footage is property of FSM.
  13. Finalists judged by FSM panel. Judges’ decisions are final and binding.
  14. Final 8 bands must travel to Mumbai for mentoring sessions & Grand Finale.
  15. Prizes: Trophy, medals, certificates, and vouchers from Furtados Music India Ltd.
  16. No component of the prize is transferable or redeemable for cash.
  17. FSM not liable for travel, food, or other expenses of participants.
  18. Schools agree that all details are accurate, and participation will not infringe third-party rights.
  19. FSM and judges’ decisions are final.
  20. FSM may cancel/restart competition if unforeseen events prevent execution.
  21. FSM is not responsible for technical errors, data loss, or unauthorized access.
  22. FSM is not liable for damages, injuries, or expenses related to participation. Schools must appoint a responsible staff contact for student safety.
